Job Description
The Data center solutions group part of Cloud and enterprise solutions group in DPG is looking for Validation/Automation engineers who will work on DSGs commercial server platform and system software. They typically would work on validation/automation of Data center blocks (DCB’s) like Nutanix, Azure HCI, VMware vSAN and other upcoming DCB’s which are used at scale in a Data center environment. They will also work on validation of custom solutions created on top of DSG commercial servers which are required by the customers and partners ex: AI based Solutions using custom Accelerators. You will work closely with system engineers, software engineers, and application engineers to understand the specifics of the product, industry standards and customer requirements and usage models to develop in-depth integration and validation test plans and subsequent automation. Direct interaction with customers and ecosystem partners will also be required when necessary.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development of test plans, test cases, automation, and debug of failures.
- Integrates, tests, installs, configures, and/or supports cloud native data center blocks like Nutanix, VMware vSAN, Microsoft Azure and customs solutions (AI, HPC etc.) on DSG platforms
- Preparing test cases, automation, and integration with Automation framework
- Design, develop, and administer infrastructure solutions, selecting software and hardware components to meet project requirements.
- Perform integration, system scale, validation, and performance testing.
- Evaluate new products and technologies by conducting POCs.
- Develop tools and framework to improve our ability to rapidly deploy, test, and evaluate storage subsystem performance under varying workloads.
- Applies advanced troubleshooting to automation system problems
- Drives continuous improvement efforts to meet automation systems health goals, as well as emerging capability needs
- Motivated to continuously learn and improve or replace existing solutions
- Customer and results oriented with attention to quality and details
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills. Quickly pick up new technology and show results fast
- Positive team player that is proactive and self-motivated to work in a global organization and drive projects to completion
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience working in Automation and automation frameworks
- OS provisioning, Scripting / coding in python, C, Java, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible and playbook
- Experience with VMware – ESXi, vCenter/vSphere (installation, administration, and daily use), Azure HCI and Nutanix cloud blocks will be an added advantage
- Experience in CI tools and infrastructure like Jenkins, Team City, GIT/SVN to enhance automation execution
- Version control mechanisms – Subversion/ Git
- Experience with CI/CD infrastructure execution/ development
