Your Role and Responsibilities

As an iSeries, you are responsible for Support iSeries/AS400 support.
An ambitious individual who can work under your own direction towards agreed goals and targets, you have the ability to manage change and to work under stress. You are curious to learn as demonstrated by your up-to-date technical knowledge. You are a good team player and you are familiar with Agile methodologies and principles and/or have experience working in an Agile team. Responsibilities:

• iSeries/AS400 – Proven Knowledge in: 
• Advanced experience in support of iSeries/AS400 platforms.
• Experience in migration to higher versions, backups restore, and fixpacks.
• Experience in Disaster Recovery backups/restores.
• Installing, configuring, updating and maintaining iSeries servers.
• Knowledge in managing additional storage / managing Disks and Tapes.
• Performance, Tuning, Security knowledge on iSeries/AS400.
• Automation programming/coding.
• Support for problems on critical and complex scenarios.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• iSeries/AS400 Specialist with at least 5 years’ experience.
• Solve incidents, write Root Cause Analysis.
• Security Patches and fix vulnerabilities.
• Perform OS and MW Health Checks and remediate on time.
• Team player, Problem Solving and Good Communication skills.
• Standby support and changes/projects periodically on weekends.
• DB2 and MQ support skills.
• Interlock Application needs with Hybrid Cloud services teams (Network, Build, Power, Storage, Monitoring).

 
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge technologies.

• Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management.

• Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications.
• Cloud / IBM Cloud Private architecture knowledge.
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery architecture knowledge.
• Development skills are preciously required: automation, shell scripts, ansible, kubernets and docker.
• DB2 and MQ Support and migration to higher versions, backups, restore and patching (fixpacks).
• Virtualization if applicable.
• Willingness to learn/teach all the time
