This role is with GM IT- Regulatory IT – Conduct, Control and Surveillance team. It provides services to Compliance functions within BNP Paribas CIB. The key stakeholders are spread across Europe and North America.

Position Purpose

The person will be a key member of the Market Abuse IT team that is tasked to deliver multiple complex projects in the Trade Surveillance area.   This role is within the Conduct, Control and Surveillance IT team.  The team utilizes Actimize infrastructure and technology to develop enhance & maintain Compliance Surveillance Models for BNP Paribas.

The role is for a Developer  with experience of working within a dynamic and demanding environment reacting to changing business needs who works equally well as an individual or as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years Application Development and M&E experience.  The candidate must have past experience of working as a part of large Development team.

The role will also involve the all aspects of the Application development, M&E activities and to provide L3 support ticket resolutions.

Previous experience within the investment banking sector is not essential but a highly motivated and skilled individual who can add to the current group of talented resources is considered more important.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently in application development / support / enhancements / bug-fixing
  • Be a part of IT team to develop and contribute in initiatives that transform and modernize the capabilities and services of the
  • Compliance and Trade Compliance function.
  • Ensure adherence to Bank and information systems policies and procedures, security measures and audit standards.
  • Mentor junior team members on the technology & processes front
  • Share knowledge and skills with others within the team from time to time
  • Prepare high quality test plans and conduct the tests at Unit , Regression, Integration, Code reviews
  • Ensuring that the project and organization standards are followed during various phases of software development life-cycle and day to day development work
     

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Contribute towards knowledge sharing initiatives and upskilling of other team members
  • Contribute to development/Writing of Technical Specifications document, Test plan, and Test Cases

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Mandatory

  • Excellent Knowledge & Understanding of Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Good Knowledge & Understanding of data modelling.
  • Flair and openess for learning new tools & technology
  • 4-6 years of experience in Banking IT, with a good understanding of the Corporate and Institutional Banking activity. Knowledge of Capital Markets an asset.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Windows Batch or PowerShell scripting
  • Good knowledge in systems, application frameworks, database optimization, and experience being responsible for the success of software development projects
  • Proven record interpreting and fulfilling requirements by developing high performing, scalable and maintainable solutions with multiple technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies and best practices including Waterfall Process, Agile methodologies, deployment automation, code reviews, and test driven development.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Being aware of new technologies and frameworks

 

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Windows Batch or PowerShell scripting

  • Experience with Exchange Traded Market data will be plus.
