Description
- Responsible to receive the patient and allot appointments for performing the CT & MRI
- Responsible to collect a brief history of the patient in case of OP cases.
- Responsible to brief the patient on the nature of the procedure and explains what they will be doing and what they will be asking the patient to do.
- Responsible to explain the above and ensure that the consent form is explained by the radiologist and signed by the patient/attendant.
- Responsible to provide positioning and immobilization devices as needed.
- In case of children and no cooperative patients, on the advice of the radiologist, coordination with the anesthetist for giving sedation.
- Responsible to select and operate the equipment according to the examination protocols and the characteristics of the equipment.
- Once the test is done, develops the films, checks for film sufficiency and sends the film for reporting to the radiologist.
- Once reported, ensure that the report is typed, duly signed by the radiologist, cross checked and dispatched to the concerned patient.
- In case of IP patients, the report is collected by the respective ward secretaries or by the concerned nurse.
- Consent form in case of OP cases sent to medical records for filing and in case of IP patients filed in the case file.
- Responsible for producing and maintain the required patient records.
- Responsible for maintaining an orderly and clean work area.
- Responsible to keep the required inventory in the department.
- Responsible to coordinate with the biomedical for equipment maintenance and preventing maintenance.
