About this role
The key purpose of your role is to manage, test, maintain and support software and systems within BT Enterprise IP Communications (IP Comms) test models and systems
The platforms and systems that you are responsible for testing are fundamental in underpinning BT’s strategic voice services. These services are consumed by multiple CFUs and are provided to residential customers, small, medium & large businesses; the revenue from these services makes a significant contribution to BT’s finances.
You’ll have the following responsibilities
• Coordinating test deliveries
• Owning test areas to ensure our design, delivery and 3rd line teams can perform their responsibilities
• Testing all aspects of the platform
• Managing relationships with vendors
• Documenting platform processes
• Managing work flows and directing the team to deliver work in a timely way
• Delivering Atreus testing
• Delivering VEL testing
• Delivering CPE integration and signout
• Coordinating performance testing
• Integrating new services
• Prioritising workstack items
• There is an element of delivery and design within the role
• Test automation
• Low level troubleshooting
• Assist with performance testing
• Delivering continuous improvement to our processes
You’ll have the following skills & experience
• The ability to prioritise, analyse and validate teat activities and reported issues
• The ability to drive issues through to resolution via the use of diagnostic tools and techniques.
• The ability to complete test activities by the required delivery dates
• The ability to own a pieces of work and delivery it in a timely way
• Good IP Voice knowledge and skills
• Good SIP protocol skills
• BroadWorks configuration skills
• Oracle and Ribbon SBC testing and configuration skills
• Linux administration skills
• Network routing and switching (multi-vendor) skills
• Windows server OS skills
• The ability to manage customer relations and strive to deliver what is important to both our internal and external customers.
• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• The ability to coordinate complex test deliveries.
• Experience of pulling together a team to achieve the test signoff in agreed timescales
• Experience to include Broadworks, Atreus, Atreides, Oracle SBC, JunOS, cisco IOS, ESXI, Test automation
• A good understanding of SIP and the IP protocol suite.
• A good knowledge of the primary applications and operating systems within the platform architecture
• A good knowledge of the predominant VoIP products within the IP Comms Platform.
• Experience in using management systems to provide and troubleshoot VoIP products.
• The ability to drive complex faults or deployment issues through to resolution via the use of diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with vendors and internal stakeholders when required.
• Be self-reliant with the ability to work in a time sensitive environment owing to the importance of the services that you are responsible for.
