Performs independent problem solving and decision making in a logical and deliberate manner, utilizing available resources when needed.
Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth and development through participation at in-service education programme, workshop, staff meetings, and unit meeting and on the job training, Research and Publications, Projects and represents the unit in Nursing audits.
Maintains scheduling requirements of attendance and punctuality in accordance with hospital policy.
Complies with standards of ethics in practice.
Is knowledgeable of patient rights and responsibilities and treats all patients with dignity and respect in a consistent and caring manner.
Understands the need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, family, visitors and all other contacts.
Cost consciousness.
Demonstrates competency in the following areas:
Basic competency, annual competency assessment and training, BLS / ACLS, NABH
training, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Emergency Situations, Safety Policies, Radiation
Safety, SO Standards, Waste Management Policy, Others as when scheduled
Practices teamwork. Works within common vision and goal and cooperates with peers and superiors.
Strives for excellence in all endeavours. Always looks for ways to work more effectively
Is aware of Healthcare Policy laid down by the Organization as per the established NABH standards.
Criteria 2: Competency In Nursing
Organizes, Plans and Implements staff development programme.
Plans and Implements orientation programme for New Nursing staff.
Supervises and guides the nursing staff in clinical area to maintain quality in nursing care.
Attends Department meeting to identify the current issues discussed regarding nursing negligence and malpractices.
Continuous assessment and evaluation of orientees.
Conducts pre recruitment test for new candidates.
Maintains classroom equipments, supplies and teaching aids.
Maintains proper records of library books and issues book to staff during library hours.
Maintains necessary requirement concerning the affiliated programme.
Attends and actively participates in relevant seminars, conferences and courses.
Assists in planning consultant lectures for in-service education.
Coordinates general administration of Nursing Education.
Performs any other work assigned by HOD.
